Georges River Program, Liverpool

The Georges River Program was designed to meet the needs of an expanding residential population in Sydney’s south-west with its increasing commercial and industrial sector while promoting recycled water use, which will reduce ocean discharges and minimise sewerage overflows into the Georges River.

The scope of works included

  • Laying 1800mm PE lined concrete sewer pipes
  • Laying 1650mm PE lined concrete sewer pipes
  • Laying 450mm HOBAS
  • Laying 225mm to 375mm PVC pipe in Liverpool CBD
  • Cast in-situ manholes with PE liner
  • Connections into existing pipework
  • Construction of concrete and asphalt pavement
  • Reinstate kerb and gutter, including laybacks and driveways
  • Reinstate Barbara Long Park
  • Reinstate Memorial Avenue and Moore St, Liverpool
  • Reinstate Liverpool – Parramatta Transitway
  • CCTV, air test, vacuum testing to Sydney Water standards

The complexities of the job included working around live traffic, traffic switches, pedestrian management, working in and around high voltage electricity, high pressure gas and fibre optic cables, pedestrian control working through Barbara Long Park, working in water-charged ground adjacent to Brickmakers Creek
