Package A and C – Renew Channels & Culverts Project

(Network And Facility Renewals Program) Culvert Replacement

Sydney Water Corporation’s owns and maintains a flood mitigation system that services about 20% of metropolitan Sydney. The system consists of assets including trunk drains such as open
channels, culverts and pipes constructed along the alignment of former watercourses, creeks and rivers.
Under SWC’s rolling condition assessment program, stormwater assets are inspected for structural and hydraulic defects on average every 10 years. This program identifies required maintenance works to allow assets to reach their expected life, as well as renewal works to prevent structural failure or
